JavaScript II
This course is from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Javascript is the next step for developers who know HTML and CSS and want to learn how to make interactive web pages with forms, animations, and more. This class builds on fundamentals covered in JavaScript 1. Do you have a basic understanding of programming concepts but would like more applied practice? Then you're the perfect student for this class! Students will learn how to work with data by applying programming concepts from the previous class. We will explore development workflows, handy tools to assist with day to day development, and basic data concepts. By the end of the class students will have worked through building a data centered web application. This class is taught by Josh Sager. Prerequisites: You should have a working knowledge of HTML and JavaScript before taking this course. This course is aimed at beginners only, so we do not recommend it for experienced developers. Students are required to bring their own laptop for classes. If you do not have a laptop, please contact us at before registering, and we’ll see if we can work something out. If you are interested in attending, but cannot afford the full class cost, please fill out our scholarship form ( This course is from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Please only register if you can make both sessions. About the instructor: Josh Sager is a Software Developer in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and is currently a Partner at Viable Industries, where he helps to design systems and write applications to support environmental foundations in the pursuit of data transparency. In his spare time he loves to tinker with electronics, play music, and screen print posters. His passion for learning has fueled a career in technology where his experiments have helped to define a diverse career path. A path in which Josh has been a designer, a developer, a teacher, a manager, a director, a founder, and a now partner - but nothing has been as rewarding as his role as a father. Always game to talk shop, Josh has lead workshops, presentations, and lectures on programming and design for teens as well as working professionals. You can follow him on twitter @joshsager. What we're about

Public Group

Want to learn how to code? Have a great idea? Don't be shy. Develop it. It can be intimidating for women to learn and ask questions when they are in an extreme minority. While open and welcoming, today's budding developer community is up to 91% male. There isn't a comfortable place where women can learn at their own pace and not be afraid to ask "stupid questions." We decided it was time to provide a place where all questions are OK and everyone can learn in a supportive environment. Our courses focus on coding, leveraging existing technology, and having something to show for it (aka building sweet websites).
