This 8 hour class will be taught over 4 evening classes from 5:30-7:30 PM, June 11th, 14th, 18th, and 20th.

PHP is the language that powers Wikipedia, WordPress, and more--in fact, it is the most common server-side language on the web! You can use PHP to build interactive, dynamic websites. We will go over the basics of programming with PHP--variables, functions, loops, and more! We will also show you how to connect your code to a MySQL database. By the end of the class you will have a fully functional PHP website.

Classes 1 & 2 will cover the PHP language
Classes 3 & 4 will cover MYSQL

Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is recommended for this class. You do not need any programming experience.

Your laptop (Mac, PC, or Linux are all okay).A modern web browser - either Chrome or Firefox with Firebug installed. A text editor. We recommend Sublime Text 2 (free; available for Mac, PC, and Linux).

R. Bruce Pitt has over 35 years of experience as a software developer, project manager, systems analyst, test manager, senior vice president of engineering, business development vice president, business architect, systems architect, technology and intellectual property evaluator, firmware developer, operating system and device driver developer, applications developer, and internet technologies developer. Mr. Pitt has worked for several Fortune 500 companies and is a veteran of ten startups, three with successful exits. Mr. Pitt is versant in C/C++, C#, Java, Javascript, PHP, Python, MySQL, MSSQL, Basic, Cobol, Fortran, Pascal, Forth, HTML, CSS, many Assembly language variants, PLM, RPGI-III, OS and Systems Support, and Networking Technologies. His specialty is High Speed, High Availability, Real-Time communications systems in both embedded system and Linux/Windows based systems.
