Intro to App Building with Salesforce

This class takes place on Saturday, June 24th from 9:00AM - 4:00PM with a break for lunch. The $65 payment covers the 6 hour class.

What this class will cover:

• What is Salesforce and what are the career opportunities for Salesforce Admins and Developers?

• App-building concepts including data modeling, user interfaces, business logic, reports, dashboards, and mobile.

• Hands-on and guided project building to build a sample app in one day.

• Introduction to Trailhead (https://trailhead.salesforce.com/), a fun online learning platform for Salesforce.

• Resources for connecting with the Salesforce community (https://success.salesforce.com/).

Prerequisites:

Students should be fairly familiar with using web and mobile applications and Googling for answers to all of life’s questions. You do not need any prior Salesforce experience.

Tech Requirements:

• Your laptop, not an iPad/tablet. If you do not have access to a laptop computer, please email atlanta@girldevelopit.com. GDI Atlanta has loaner laptops for those who do not have access to one.

• A modern browser such as Chrome (https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/) or Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/) installed. The visual development tools only run on a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari 9.x and 10.x on Mac OS X, Internet Explorer 11)

Financial Need:

A limited number of scholarships are available for those with a financial hardship. Ko Forte

Ko Forte is a certified Salesforce Administrator who works as a Business Analyst for Vonage Business. She supports the Customer Care organization by analyzing processes and researching Salesforce solutions that provide an efficient user experience. Her most recent projects include: Roles and Profiles, Service Cloud Feed-based Console Layout implementation, and Customer Community launch.

Michelle Bura

Michelle Bura is an Application Administrator who works in IT for CareerBuilder. She helps support and develop applications for the Customer Care teams. She primarily works with the Service Cloud and third-party apps such as Skuid.

Michelle became a Salesforce user 7 years ago as a Client Service Rep. However, she stumbled into becoming a Salesforce Admin, when a recruiter saw her resume and thought she had the skill set to become a successful admin. Three years later, Michelle has earned 3 Salesforce Certifications including Certified Salesforce Advanced Administrator.

You can typically catch Michelle sharing her knowledge at the local Salesforce Saturday meetup or helping organize local GDI classes.

Teacher Assistants:
