Introduction to SQL

Details
Big data is hot right now. SQL is like the hipster of data. It was cool before people were into data. Most large companies, and many small ones, store all the valuable information about their companies in databases, and SQL is the language to get at that data and find out what you want about your customers, your products, and your entire business. SQL is a declarative language, which means it reads a lot like English, and is easy to get started with.

👩🏫 INSTRUCTOR
This workshop will be taught by GDI Dayton member Annye Driscoll with the help of several teaching assistants.
Annye is a Senior Consultant for Sogeti USA, and has been consulting at PNC Mortgage as a developer for almost five years! Two years ago, she helped create a new application to help people get mortgage modifications. A big part of that project was designing a whole new database – one that could hold a ton of mortgage and decision information.
Annye earned her B.S. in Computer Science from Ohio University. She loves reading, riding her horse, and creating cosplays.
