This class is for people new to Git as well as people who need a refresher on the basics. Combine it with Intro to Git/Github - Part 2 Github for a total Git/Github immersion. (https://www.meetup.com/Girl-Develop-It-Fort-Collins/events/235045823/)
If you are interested in Git or just learning a better way to manage your files this is the class for you!
Git is an essential tool for any programmer’s tool belt and can make all the difference when you’re learning to code or working on a team.
In this workshop we will go over the following:
• What is git?
• Installing git bash
• Best practices for version control
• Creating git repos
• Using git to keep your projects organized
• Controlling git with command line
• Using git to view and revert to older versions of a document
• Using git to track down and fix bugs
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS (there's only 1!):
• Bring your laptop & charger (Don't have one? Please contact us prior to class)
Our Instructor for the class will be Anne Regel, GDI Fort Collins resident Git/Github guru.
