Intro to Web Analytics Using Google Analytics

Details

Do you wonder about the people visiting your site, what they’re looking for, and how they got there?

Everyone from small shops to big corporations uses Google Analytics to help them discover detailed statistics about their websites. It is a free web analytics platform that helps website owners analyze visitor traffic and gain insights of their audience and their needs.

The real power in Google Analytics comes from being able to tie the data you see inside its dashboard to actionable recommendations you can make or act upon to help improve your users’ website experience and/or your team’s marketing activities. In this Google Analytics 101 class, we’ll learn:

• What Google Analytics is, how it works & what it can and cannot do

• How to setup your account based on your organizational needs

• How to turn business objectives into measurable goals we can implement & track inside Google Analytics

• How to track every marketing activity your team is doing - from online to offline - in a way that keeps those dollars and minutes very accountable

• How to read Google Analytics reports for insights (including some specific common business & website questions Google Analytics can answer & where to find those answers)

While we’ll cover the basic technical walk-through of setting Google Analytics up, we will not cover detailed technical setups including advanced configurations like e-commerce tracking.

Prerequisites:
No technical background is required for this class. Though not required, to get the most out of this class, you may want to already have administrative access to a Google Analytics account whose data you can analyze during the class.
