Are you trying to break into the tech field or transition careers? Curious about what its like to work in different technical positions? Looking to hire members for your team? Join us for the five event GDI Careers speaker series “A Day in the Life” and learn more about important pieces of a tech team.

In our first event of the speaker series, hear from a panel of experienced ladies with different backgrounds and responsibilities about how they came to be a product manager or project manager. They will highlight what their day-to-day responsibilities are like, the differences between the two roles, and what advice they have for folks looking to enter the field.

A $5 donation toward the Girl Develop It scholarship fund is requested to confirm your attendance.

Beah Burger-Lenehan (https://twitter.com/beahbl) is the Vice President of Product at Ticketleap, a center city startup. Her career in tech started in California at Google, where she worked in Search and later Publisher Ads. She left Google in 2013 to join the Philadelphia tech community and to help it grow.

Jessica Victor (http://www.twitter.com/JVictor)found her way to project management after working at a few Philadelphia tech startups. Jessica realized that her organizational skills and background in psychology were well matched for the busy life of a digital project manager. As a DPM, she gets to help projects go from a simple concept to a complete finished product on the web.

Marina Rakhlin (https://twitter.com/Marina_Rakhlin) loves her role as the CEO of the Product, working with cross-functional teams to create software focused for delivering valuable insights. In her current role as the Director of Product Management at a marketing software company Monetate, Marina works with agile engineering teams to craft features and products centered around personalizing the online experience, product recommendations, and cross-channel analytics. Marina holds an MBA from the Wharton School and enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and daughter.

Joy Barnosky (https://twitter.com/BarnoskyJoy)has experience in project management spanning more than a decade. She's applied her PM skills across a variety of industries and found her love for digital project management while managing the development of a series of clinical and systems based improvement digital products in the healthcare arena. Outside of her busy PM life, Joy loves being a Mom to her two children, running, traveling, spending time with family and friends, sports-ball, and trying new restaurants with her partner in crime-her husband!

Abby Fretz (http://www.twitter.com/abbyfretz) is Senior Project Manager at Happy Cog, a Philadelphia-based web design agency. Coming from a background of conflict resolution and event planning, Abby started her tech career at Azavea, a Philly based geospatial software design company. Abby has experience in Agile, waterfall and blended management approaches. She is an urban beekeeper, runner, and textile artist.
