Intro to Web Accessibility
Details
Who can use your websites and apps? Are they accessible to as many people as possible? Are you incorporating universal or inclusive design principles?
Web accessibility has traditionally described the process of enhancing websites for people with disabilities. Come to this class to learn more about developing with accessibility in mind—and building a better web experience for everyone. Accessibility: essential for some, useful for all.
PREREQUISITES AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
This class will focus on introducing you to digital accessibility: the audience, basic general design principles and the technology involved. It is helpful to have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. The class will be lecture-focused. Bring a laptop or pen and paper for notes. Feel welcome to ask plenty of questions!
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Mikey Ilagan is an Accessibility Specialist at Think Company. He works full-time as part of the Comcast Accessibility Team. He's spent the past decade building digital experiences using a lifetime of passion for technology. Today, he uses a diverse background to work with product teams to ensure Xfinity's offerings are usable and well-designed for customers using assistive technology.
