Introduction to jQuery

Details

The Introduction to jQuery class runs on Saturday, May 17th from 1-5pm.

Meet jQuery, a small, cross-browser JavaScript library that makes adding interactivity, animation, and manipulating the DOM on your website easier. In fact, you've probably already met, as jQuery is the world's most popular JS library and has been used on some of the world's most popular websites.

In this half-day workshop, you'll be getting to know it better. We'll cover the basics: traversing web pages to find and manipulate elements; creating and injecting elements; listening for events; creating animation and effects; and following good jQuery patterns. NOTE: Participants should have basic javascript knowledge as well as a working knowledge of HTML. CSS knowledge would also be helpful, but not required. Please email us at rdu@girldevelopit.com for any questions regarding this.
