Note: This class will run from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm with a 45 minute break for lunch.
There is on-street parking on Dawson, free on weekends. You can also park in the Wake County Parking Deck, at $1/hour. The garage address is 412 S McDowell St.

What this class will cover:
• What is Salesforce and what are the career opportunities for Salesforce Admins and Developers?
• App-building concepts including data modeling, user interfaces, business logic, reports, dashboards, and mobile.
• Hands-on and guided project building to build a sample app in one day.
• Introduction to Trailhead (https://developer.salesforce.com/trailhead/), an online learning platform for Salesforce.
• Resources for connecting with the Salesforce community (https://success.salesforce.com/).

Sarah Amin

Sarah is a Salesforce Consultant and Solution Manager for North Peak Solutions, a consulting firm working exclusively with nonprofit organizations. Sarah has also served as leader of the Salesforce Raleigh Durham Nonprofit User Group and currently leads the Salesforce Raleigh Women In Tech User Group. Sarah has been working with Salesforce since 2012 and is Certified Administrator, Advanced Administrator and Platform App Builder. In her free time, Sarah spends her time cooking and gardening with her husband and two small children.
Amber Neill Boaz
Amber entered the Salesforce universe in late 2008 and was immediately smitten. Since then she has passed 6 certification exams, co-founded 4 user groups in central North Carolina, and is a five-time Dreamforce speaker. Amber has been a Salesforce.com MVP since 2011
Amber is always looking for ways to help organizations streamline their processes. She has worked with Fortune 500 organizations, startups, nonprofits, and everything in between. When not Salesforce-ing, Amber enjoys running in her hometown of Durham NC, Tweeting (@amber9904), community theater, and spending time with her nieces.
Prerequisites:
Students should be fairly familiar with using web and mobile applications and Googling for answers to all of life’s questions. You do not need any prior Salesforce or programming experience.
Tech Requirements:
Please bring a laptop, not an iPad/tablet. The visual development tools only run on a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari 9.x and 10.x on Mac OS X, Internet Explorer 11).

Refund Policy: Your payment of $60 guarantees your seat in the entire course. Please note that we cannot issue refunds, because there's an overhead to issuing refunds via Meetup.com and we already offer the workshops at such a low cost. We put proceeds into the chapter fund, which we use as our scholarship fund.
