Intro to HTML and CSS

CLASS OVERVIEW
Want to learn how to build your own website? Already have your own Tumblr/Wordpress/etc site, but want to have more control over it? Interested in learning to program but want to start small? This class is for you!

We will guide you through the basics of HTML and CSS, give you some readily-applicable skills, and answer any questions you may have along the way.

DATES
This four-class course runs on Wednesdays.

Class 1: Wednesday, November 7th, 6:30pm-8:30pm

Class 2: Wednesday, November 14th, 6:30pm-8:30pm

NO CLASS NOVEMBER 21st FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEK

Class 3: Wednesday, November 28th, 6:30pm-8:30pm

Class 4: Wednesday, December 5th, 6:30pm-8:30pm

PREREQUISITES
At this time, you will need to provide your own laptop - PC or Mac - to participate in the course.

You will also need a text editor and a web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari. Our favorite text editors:

• Sublime Text (http://www.sublimetext.com/) (Mac & PC, free trial version)
• Atom (https://atom.io/) (Mac & PC, free)
• TextWrangler (http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/) (Mac, free)
• Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus-plus.org/) (PC, free)

$80 for all four classes

• Payment is required to attend. Due to the number of applications, only the scholarship recipient will receive an email a few days before the workshop. Thank you for your understanding!

REFUNDS AND WAITLIST
Refunds are offered only if the class is rescheduled/cancelled or in extreme circumstances. If you are no longer able to attend, please post your interest in selling your ticket in the comments. If you find a buyer, email paigeb@girldevelopit.com with the name of the buyer. Do not change your RSVP in the Meetup event.

Unfortunately, GDI cannot offer a waitlist. If the class is full, please keep an eye on the comments to see if another student is interested in selling their ticket to you.
