Career Workshop - Create a Killer Resume

99.9% of all the resumes I see are horrible.

Most resumes will never get past the initial screening because they fail to immediately impress the reader. How do I know? Because I've reviewed thousands of resumes as both a Hiring Manager and as a Career Advisor to Design and Development graduates.

In this class, you will learn how to best articulate your skills, experience, and interests on your resume in a way that helps you stand out from the crowd. Whether you are experienced or a career changer, you have game-changing skills – I’ll show you how to best present them and provide specific feedback on ways to enhance your own resume. You'll learn what hiring managers are really looking for and how to write your resume in a way that gives you a greater chance of getting in the door.

Please come to the workshop with:

• A printed copy of your resume, regardless of the shape it's in. This is a workshop, and we will use your actual resumes as we go through the various stages of the class.

• A laptop computer is optional. A notebook/tablet to take notes is encouraged.

Your Instructor Sarrah Vesselov

Sarrah Vesselov is a UI / UX Developer with over 10 years of experience in web development. As a UI/UX Manager and Senior UI Web developer, she created responsive websites and applications for various clients including Aeropostale, Payless, and Talbots.

Sarrah is ardent in sharing her knowledge with others. Her work as an Adjunct Professor includes instruction in WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, SEO smarts, and Internet marketing at several Tampa area colleges.

She has been a Career Advisor and has served as Mentoring Lead for ACM SIGGRAPH, matching students from around the globe with mentors in their field.
