Note: This class will run from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm with a 45 minute break for lunch.

What this class will cover:
• What is Salesforce and what are the career opportunities for Salesforce Admins and Developers?
• App-building concepts including data modeling, user interfaces, business logic, reports, dashboards, and mobile.
• Hands-on and guided project building to build a sample app in one day.
• Introduction to Trailhead (https://trailhead.salesforce.com/), a fun online learning platform for Salesforce.
• Resources for connecting with the Salesforce community (https://success.salesforce.com/).

Prerequisites:
Students should be fairly familiar with using web and mobile applications and Googling for answers to all of life’s questions. You do not need any prior Salesforce experience.
Tech Requirements:
Please bring a laptop, not an iPad/tablet. The visual development tools only run on a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari 9.x and 10.x on Mac OS X, Internet Explorer 11).
Financial need:

About the teachers:
Naya Boutsomsy is a Senior Project Manager who works in Human Resources for Capital One. She is helping the company transform the “Life@CapitalOne” experience to associates across the globe. Her emphasis is on integrating technology to make effective work/life experiences.
Naya became a Salesforce user 7 years ago as an HR Specialist. Her degree is in Sociology from Emory University. However, she became an “accidental admin” after teaching herself Salesforce using online tools. She is currently a Salesforce Administrator and Developer for Human Resources. Naya believes “if you can visualize it, you can build it with Salesforce.”
