Proudly Canadian, Unitron was originally founded in St.Johns, Newfoundland in 1964 and has been at the forefront of hearing aid technology for the past 53 years. With a staff of 200 employees in Kitchener and hundreds employed abroad, Unitron continues to build and strengthen its’ brand both locally and internationally, manufacturing and distributing hearing aids to healthcare professionals worldwide.
Unitron offers a workplace environment focused on the importance of valuing employees like family. Hosting numerous events, functions and outings and offering many perks, employees are introduced and trained ‘The Unitron Way’, a standard that promotes and reinforces a culture of communications and interactions in a fun way that helps foster positive relations and serves to cultivate a tight knit community of respected, talented and dedicated team members.
Unitron looks forward to hosting with a panel of 4 keynote speakers on topics ranging from Audiology, R&D, Marketing and Website building to show how they tie into the manufacturing and distribution of their products.

Laura McFadden
Title: Director of Brand Communications
Laura is the Director of Brand Communications, responsible for elevating the perception of Unitron as a leader in customer experience by defining, communicating and activating the brand strategy.
As an accomplished leader in the high-tech industry, Laura is recognized for her strong brand vision, project management ability and cross-functional team skills. She is passionate about the team she leads and the shared sense of purpose they have in making a meaningful difference in the lives of those with hearing loss.
In her home life, Laura is most proud of her two beautiful girls who have taught her the importance of “letting go”. She has a passion for travel and hopes to one day build a vacation home somewhere exotic. This may not be surprising considering she once lived off the land in the Bahamas – survivor style-for 30 days.

Tina Howard
Title: Senior Audiologist
Tina is an audiologist with 17 years of industry experience – 7 years working as a clinical audiologist and 10 years at Unitron as Senior Audiologist, leading clinical field trials for product validation. She enjoys being part of the product development process, it allows her to apply her knowledge as an audiologist to help bring new technology and innovations to the market, helping people with hearing loss to hear and connect to their world better.

Leeanne Quehl
Title: Software Developer, Fitting Software
Leeanne has been with Unitron for her entire 9 year career; the majority spent on the Fitting Software Development team where she specializes in UI development, installation, build infrastructure, and managing large amounts of data.
Leeanne completed her Bachelor of Applied Technology in Electronics Systems Engineering from Conestoga College, where she gained the skills to learn and adapt in the workplace. In her past life, as world traveller and martial artist - she developed a quiet confidence, a will for self-improvement, and an uncompromising drive for success in many areas of life. In her new life as a mother – a reduced work schedule helps her balance work-life with the pressure of raising a young family.
When she’s not working, Leeanne spends every waking moment with her lovable 2 year old daughter; collecting mundane rocks and practicing basic life skills. Meanwhile, her mind never stops churning, planning, strategizing for whatever exciting adventure is next.

Erica Morgan
Title: Marketing Specialist, Digital Marketing
With a background in digital communications and social media, Erica has been with Unitron for 7 years in the Marketing department and also holds the role of chairperson for their fundraising committee where she helps plan various fundraising events and do volunteer work with the Dog Guides of Canada.
Managing 80+ Unitron websites in various languages in a small team of 5, Erica plays a vital role in 2 annual product launches per year, helping to digitally integrate new hearing aid technology onto the web while elevating the Unitron brand online & on social media.
Erica enjoys learning new things and regularly participates in various digital webinars, Hootsuite sessions and other Marketing programs to keep her digital game strong! In her spare time Erica enjoys hiking with her dog and being a sampler of all the ice creams.
