Vasquez Rocks Hike

Ladies let’s hike and/or rock scramble around Vasquez Rocks!!

For those of you who have never been, these amazing rock formations have been featured in countless movies and tv shows including Star Trek, the Flinstones, Blazing Saddles, planet of the apes and the list goes on....

This starts as a trail and ends up us meandering off trail up and down over rocks. We will stay about 2-2.5 hrs but will leave before gets super hot as the rocks can get hot. You should bring shoes with good grip, sneakers are ok but it can get dusty and therefore make the rock extra slippery. For your safety and comfort hiking shoes would be best. We will not do anything super difficult but there will be opportunities for those that may want to scramble more or climb larger rocks that will be your choice.

Needed: water, shoes with strong grip, snacks, long pants recommended

Parking: when you pull in you will see visitor center to right , turn on road to the left and drive to the furthest parking lot til you can drive anymore and you will see the formation in picture above. Park there.
