Help to make a difference in our communities. Lend a hand to non-profit organizations in and around Philadelphia while meeting new people and sharing positive experiences that make this big world just a teenie bit better!
We have a "2 strikes" policy: if you are a no show 2 times, with no explanation to the event host afterwards, you will be removed from the group. And if you repeatedly cancel at the last minute, you will also be removed. Sorry to be so harsh, but it's not fair to anyone on the waiting list or to the organizations we are trying to help.
We also want active members in this group. Please be sure to visit our site at least 1 time per year. If you do not, we will assume you are no longer interested and you will be removed from the group.
Project HOME conducts an annual census of homeless people every year, the Point in Time count. Hundreds of volunteers are needed on the street throughout the city so that the whole city can be canvassed in one night. It's a big commitment for volunteers (a few hours outdoors in the middle a January weeknight), but you'll be contributing to an important part of Project HOME's mission and gain new insights into the reality of homelessness.
