Glasgow Centurions Touch Club are a mixed touch team based in the West End of Glasgow. We are currently on the lookout for new female members to join our ranks! Everyone over 18 is welcome regardless of age or experience.

*Unfortunately we are not currently accepting new male members at present - please check back with us in 2017 for updates. New female players are still very welcome!*

The club was founded in September 2014. Over the past 2 years we have went from strength to strength participating in tournaments across Scotland, winning our first league title in August 2016 and adding over 40 new members to our club. Our membership includes male and female players of all different ages and walks of life, we are a diverse bunch! Would you like to be a part of our growing team?

So what is touch? Don't be put off by the word rugby! Touch is a minimal-contact version of the game which is suitable for all ages and abilities. It is played on a 70m x 50m pitch which is half the size of a standard rugby field. Touch is unique in that it is one of a few team sports where both men and women play together in the same mixed team. Its a relatively simple game where all that is needed is a rugby ball, some space to play and some people to take part! The game is similar in some ways to rugby league but does not including any of the tackling, mauling, lineouts, kicking, scrummaging or rucking. It can be a fast paced sport and is great for fitness.

Want to see touch in action? Check the highlights from the World Cup Mixed (men and women) Final between Australia and New Zealand below! We are definitely not quite at this standard but it gives you a flavour of what touch is all about! Don't worry you don't have to dive at the line quite dramatically as they do!

The skills you will develop while playing touch include teamwork, communication, ball control, agility and of course general fitness. As well as all this you will get the chance to meet our awesome team of friendly players who will be happy to welcome you to the club! No experience is required to join our training sessions and if you are new to the sport it would be an ideal opportunity to get involved one of the world fastest growing team games.

We train outdoors weekly in Victoria Park and all our sessions are free. We have also recently changed our training schedule to include a regular specific beginners session where all new and beginner players can get to grips with the game in a friendly environment.

Why not come down, meet our team and find out what touch is all about? We look forward to seeing you!
