Shamanic Journey Circle - December 1, 2018
Anthropologists estimate the “shamanic journey” practice to be at least 30,000 years old. Repetitive percussion sounds from drums and rattles help participants enter a meditative state of consciousness, in which non-ordinary “spirit realms” can be perceived, navigated, and explored. Join us in our journey toward spiritual help and healing that can often be found in the “shamanic state of consciousness.” The Shamanic Drum Circle meets the first Saturday of every month at Yoga Funk, a beautiful, 2500-square-foot practice facility with excellent acoustics for Drum Journeying, located at 1000 Route 66, Suite F, Glendora, CA, 91740. Shoes are removed before entering the practice area. Yoga mats are recommended, with a few available to borrow. We sit on the floor, in a circle, around a central lit candle. Most participants bring a notebook and pen to record their journeywork. Donation-based free community workshop open to all adults. Typical donation: $10 to $15. No experience necessary. Drums and rattles are provided.
