Global Bikes Meetup

You are welcome to join the program at any time. As the miles increase, you will want to ensure you can handle them. A road bike or a hybrid bike with narrow tires is best for this ride. If you have any questions about the program, please call John Montez at 480-899-3625. Don't ever worry about being left behind... someone will stay with you if you fall behind.

Beginner to Expert Saturday Training
10 to 30 miles in 5 weeks

Training Program: Starts the week of January 31st, and
ends February 28th.

Week Two: 15-20 miles

• Bike Handling: Cornering, shifting, hand positions, cadence, and climbing.
• Nutrition: In Arizona, nutrition is no joke! You need to be well hydrated and well nourished. This will be covered every week.
• Basics of proper bike fit: John will cover the touchpoints on your bike. This will include saddle height, handlebar height, and foot position.

Before attending, please make sure your bike is in proper working order. If you need help getting your bike back in riding condition, please stop by one of our locations. Global Bikes offers several service options to get your bike ready to ride. Bicycle service may take a few days, so please plan accordingly.

GLOBAL BIKES RIDE WAIVER
When you attend this event, you are agreeing to the following:
While bicycling is an outstanding recreational sport, it also involves risk and even dangers. Some of these dangers include, but are not limited to, traveling on or crossing heavily trafficked roads, steep descents, potholes, accidents, unexpected moves by other riders, physical exertion, fatigue, flat tires, and interactions with motorists. Ride terrain, pace, and distance may vary from the written or verbal description. In addition, mountain bike rides may involve steep descents on heavily rutted roads and/or trails, rock and log hopping, and encounters with cacti, snakes, or other wildlife.

I acknowledge that Eighty Hour Weeks, LLC, Alan D. Lepak, Brandee Lepak, and RMAL, LLC (all DBA Global Bikes) require the wearing of helmets as well as other safety gear and agree to hold Global Bikes and the ride leaders harmless for any injury resulting from my failure to wear a helmet or other safety gear.

The undersigned acknowledges that the risks recited above as well as numerous other dangers are inherent in recreational bicycling, and the undersigned agrees to assume all risks associated with participation in ride activities. The undersigned further agrees to save and hold harmless (following entities are all DBA Global Bikes) Eighty Hour Weeks, LLC, Alan D. Lepak, RMAL, LLC, and All its’ employees, ride leaders, coordinators, members, and other riders from any liability for any injury or damage resulting from, or in any way connected with, participation in group/store/club activities.

I warrant that I am competent to ride safely and that my bicycle and equipment are in safe working condition. I agree to obey all traffic laws and to practice safety and courtesy when cycling. I hereby consent to emergency treatment in case of injury or illness.

For children under 18, I agree to the terms of the above waiver for my child/children. I agree that Global Bikes, its officers, activity organizers, employees, ride leaders, and other members have no obligation to provide instruction to, or supervision of, my children.

I grant Eighty Hour Weeks, LLC, Alan D. Lepak, and Brandee Lepak, RMAL, LLC, their employees, and agents unlimited permission to use, publish, and republish in any form reproductions of my likeness (photographs or video) with or without identification of me by name. I agree not to demand payment or any other compensation, and I would like to hold the above parties harmless from all liability that arises from such use.

The Nacho Ride is BACK! This is not your average MTB Ride. We take it nice and easy and welcome new riders. Our goal is to have a good time and learn a few skills while making new friends.

The Nacho Ride is perfect for you if you are new to Mountain Biking, want to get back into it after a long summer, or you just want to find your people.

Meet at the Ahwatukee shop at 8:00 am and plan to roll out at 8:15. We will then ride to the trailhead from the shop.

Remember:

• Sunscreen
• Helmet
• Water
• Spare tube, or whatever you need to fix a flat. We will help you if anything mechanical happens (No need to worry about that.)

Kids are welcome with parents.

The Gilbert Sunday Funday Ride

Start time change to 7:30 AM

Join us at the Global Bikes Gilbert location for The Sunday Funday Ride. This ride will be a fun, medium paced jaunt around the Town of Gilbert and will include a mixture of road and canal paths.

Everyone is invited! Analog (pedal) bikes and E-bikes are welcome! This is a no drop ride; we won’t leave you behind!

Get ready for a good time with great people!

We will meet at the Global Bikes Gilbert location at 7:30 am and begin the ride at 6:45 am

Routes will vary, with distances ranging from 10 - 15 miles and an average speed range of 11 - 13 mph. Expected ride times are 1 - 2 hours.

Here are a couple of possible routes:

• Hydration
• A Helmet
• Sunscreen
• Sunglasses / eye protection
• Lights are recommended - even for daytime rides
• Roadside repair supplies (spare tube, inflation, & tire levers at a minimum)
• No earbuds please

What we will cover:

• What items you need to be ready for anything on a ride
• How to change and patch an inner tube
• How to repair a tubeless tire with a plug
• Basic roadside or trailside fixes
• Basic maintenance to keep your bike in tip-top shape

You do NOT need to bring your own bike for this class as we have plenty of bikes here to work on. But, definitely bring your questions :-)
