Sunday Service

Global Bikes

A beginner level ride through the East Valley This ride was designed for beginning cyclists, who want to improve fitness and prepare for longer distances. In this ride, you will learn the skills to improve on your basic group riding skills. Our goal is to lessen group ride intimidation, by providing a friendly, non-ego environment, where you can get feedback, and tips from other experienced riders. Rides start and end at the Gilbert shop on the NE corner of Gilbert and Guadalupe. We try our best to not leave anyone behind and we will stop for mechanicals or flats. Usually, we will have a designated sweeper on the ride, but if you are not able to maintain the average pace for these distances, you may want to try a slower-paced ride. We will not stay behind for the slowest rider. We just want you to be aware of this when you sign up. This ride will be at an average pace of 15-17 mph with distances between 30 and 40 miles, with pre-determined hydration/rest stops along the route. Routes vary with no hills, to more challenging fun rolling hills – check the comments below for the upcoming route. Riders should: Be sure to eat a light breakfast; suggestion: toast/peanut butter or oatmeal. Bring a road bike – you MUST wear a helmet to participate in this ride. If it is still dark when we take off you must have headlight and taillight as required by law. Bring plenty of water - we suggest 2 water bottles or a hydration pack. Bring a spare inner tube – stop by the store if you need a roadside tool kit or lights. Wear comfortable clothing. Be prepared for two-three hours of riding. Arrive 15 minutes early and be sure to pump up tires. Obey traffic laws – you are responsible for your own safety. Questions? post a question below. We hope to see you there! Don’t forget to take one of our FREE "So you just got a bike" 101 clinics - check the calendar By RSVP'ing to this event.. you are agreeing to the following waiver.
