When we work through social enterprises or community groups to add social value to the world we live in then raising finance is always difficult. One way that is becoming increasingly popular is through crowd funding but how can we do this so that it is successful?

Fritha Vincent discovered social business and rewards based crowd funding in 2014. Having been a charity fundraiser for 14 years Fritha was looking for new ways to make her difference. After stumbling upon a way to empower women in India, Fritha ran her first crowd funding campaign.

Since then Fritha has used this powerful mechanism of winning support to raise over £100,000 for charities and social enterprises.

Fritha also continued to empower women through the making and selling of Secret Pillows and Secret Pillow Project was born and today has a growing network of over 275 producers based in rural and urban communities in North and South India.

A Secret Pillow is a pillow that unfolds into a blanket.

Join us to hear Fritha’s success story and what lessons we can learn from it to start crowd funding for our own projects.
