Join us in this webinar on April 13th at 7.00pm when with Kath McGuire we look at what is called “doughnut economics” and whether this model provides a framework for communities and local authorities to assess whether their policies are sustainable for our planet.

Kate Raworth wrote a book about doughnut economics to illustrate how we can seen if the policies we pursue breach the limits of sustainability. This is now widely read across the globe.

Some local authorities are now using this model across the globe. Amsterdam and Brussels now use the doughnut model as does does Costa Rica.

There are several authorities and communities.in the UK who are also looking at this model. In Cambridge there is a group of people backed up by researchers at Anglia Ruskin University who are examining how the doughnut model can be applied to Cambridge.

Kath McGuire is a member of the Cambridge group and in this webinar she will explain what doughnut economics is and how they hope Cambridge will use it as indicators of their sustainable objectives. She will also discuss how this can be applied to other localities.
