What we're about

A community for eating and sharing Gluten Free food.

A great place to learn more about all the great food that is available and share your favorite restaurant and recipes.

Plus when we get together, you know you won't have to wonder if anything is safe to eat.

This group is for Celiacs, gluten-intolerant, and gluten-free curious.

If you have an interest in event hosting an activity for the group or becoming and event organizer...please contact the owner at eatpraysnorkel@gmail.com

FOR WHO KNOWS WHEN!! For when we re-meet in person someday!!!

No need to RSVP. We have plenty of room.

The location will likely still be fairly central with lots of free parking:

Providence Portland Medical Center is on the corner of NE 47th and Glisan. Enter via Glisan. Park on the 2nd floor and walk across the glass pedestrian bridge over the grass. If you find yourself walking over a street, that's a different bridge to the wrong building. The hospital is to the west of the parking garage.

Then just take a left and we're in the large social room on the main floor straight ahead.

Rarely the meeting room changes: look for signs posted.

Meetings are free and are open to anyone who eats gluten-free or who wants to know more about eating gluten-free. That might include people withe celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, DH (dermatitis herpetiformis), autoimmune diseases, people on grain-free diets such as SCD, Paleo, GAPS, AIP, SIBO-Specific Food Guide.

We often have speakers, and you'll have a chance to introduce yourself and participate, or you can just come and hang out and watch. Whatever is comfortable for you. Friends and family welcome.

For updates on our schedule please refer to our Facebook page.

We have meetings every month except December when we go out to eat. November is a gluten-free potluck with turkey, ham, drinks, plates and utensils and you bring all the sides and dessert.

Welcome to the GIG of Portland meetings info on Meetup. Everyone is welcome! We meet every second Saturday of the year except during the summer (June, July, August). Sometimes it's just us talking about various topics and gluten-free discoveries and sometimes we have a speaker.

I update information regularly on our Facebook page GIG of Portland. You are welcome go head over there and join.

Daily posts of information on gluten-free businesses, articles and research with the occasional GF recipe.

Our lovely meeting room at Providence Portland has been canceled through May 2022. Providence will be running a trial of outside meetings to occur in their buildings over the summer, but as we don't meet in the summer this test run by Providence will give us information for the Fall. So we may be meeting in person when we reconvene in September, depending on a number of factors.

I would love to hold a hybrid meeting in September - virtual via Zoom and in-person. I will need some IT help to pull that off, so if you know how to do that, please reach out to me: Lisa Shaver at [masked]
