Meetup: Go Dark Magic: CGO and Integrating Python with Go
OVERVIEW: Come, share, socialize, and learn with GoJakarta and Brankas with a special meetup on Dark Magic: CGO, and Integrating Python with Go. Join us this September 27th at 7:00pm as we welcome Kurniagusta Dwinto, the Head of Infrastructure at Payfazz, and Tam Nguyen, the Chief Architect at XendIt and former Palantir Engineer as they share their knowledge with Jakarta's Go community. Presentations will begin promptly at 7:00pm, and will end at roughly 8:30pm. There will be a short question and answer period after each presenter. Doors open at 6:30pm. Please come on time, before 7:00pm! SPACE IS LIMITED! Please only RSVP if you are able to attend! ABOUT THE SPEAKERS AND TALKS: Kurniagusta "Winto" Dwinto is the Head of Infrastructure and Payfazz, and has worked as a systems engineer doing DevOps at Traveloka and Kudo. Winto will share the Deep Magic of CGO, and demonstrate how CGO can be leveraged to get the most out of Go. Winto has deep experience building and managing systems in Go, C/C++ and Python. Winto holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from the University of Indonesia. Tam Nguyen is currently the Chief Architect at XendIt and previously worked as a Forward Deployed Engineer with Palantir Technologies where he traveled the globe to help develop technology behind large scale data ingestion pipelines in a variety of languages and frameworks. Tam will present his approach to exposing legacy Python applications and systems hidden behind modern Go web frontend APIs. Tam holds a Bachelors in Computer Science from the University of Maryland College Park, and has worked at a wide variety of technology firms, spanning the gamut from Android development to backend systems development. ABOUT GOJAKARTA: GoJakarta is a monthly meetup group focused on examining applications, frameworks, and technologies written in the Go programming language. The Go programming language is an open source project to make programmers more productive. Go is expressive, concise, clean, and efficient. Its concurrency mechanisms make it easy to write programs that get the most out of multicore and networked machines, while its novel type system enables flexible and modular program construction. Go compiles quickly to machine code yet has the convenience of garbage collection and the power of run-time reflection. It's a fast, statically typed, compiled language that feels like a dynamically typed, interpreted language.
