7:05 - Cross-Platform Communication Using gRPC (Roberto Rojas)
This talk will cover the communication between microservices written using different languages like Node.js, Java and of course Go. We'll take a look at Message Types, passing metadata between services, establishing secure communication, and message streaming.
7:25 - Introduction to Jocko: Kafka in Go (Dave Walk)
Kafka, the open source distributed commit log, is pretty cool, but it requires ZooKeeper and the JVM. But now there's an alternative called Jocko, a Kafka-compliant project that since it's written in Go it can be compiled down to a single binary. This presentation will briefly go over what Kafka and Jocko are, how Jocko works and demo some simple producer/consumer situations.
7:45 - Main Presentation - Building a proxy server with Golang! (Maurício Linhares)
In this talk we'll learn the good and bad things that could happen when you're building a proxy server with golang. We'll dig into what you need to care about when building networking software from both a server and a client perspective and the details that go into building a happy HTTP server that's capable of correctly proxying requests.

Our office is very close to the MFL and Broad St. lines (http://septa.org/schedules/transit/index.html) of the subway (get off at the 13th or City Hall stops)
There is some street parking on the streets surrounding our office, but spots are rare. There are parking garages at 83 S. Juniper St. and 78 S. 13th St. that are very close to our building.
