The Big Loop - 70 Miles

Details
This is a training ride with distance and hills suitable for slower hill climbers who can ride distance. We are going to try out some new roads, one of them is the climb to the Pittock Mansion near the end. Several of us are training for the John Day ride coming up in a few weeks.
Route: We are riding a big loop starting in Raleigh Hills, going to OC, East Portland, Vancouver, North Portland, NW Portland and back to Raleigh Hills. (http://www.nps.gov/crla/planyourvisit/vehicle-free-weekend-on-east-rim-drive.htm)
Time: Be ready to ride at 8:00AM sharp. We honor those who arrange their schedule to be on time.
RIDE LEADER CONTACT INFO: Jan Westfall 503-680-1154 jan_westfall@yahoo.com Please call or email with any questions.
Pace: ~15 mph on the flats.
Distance: 70 miles
Hills: Yep, too many for me! But, the faster members of the group always wait patiently at the top for the slower climbers.
Attitude: Keep it moving. Short breaks as needed through out the ride. We move together as a supportive and encouraging group.
Traffic: Expect normal traffic.
Weather Cancellation Policy: We don't expect a surprise but brutal cold, soupy fog or sideways rain will cancel.
Required: All items you need to change your tire if you get a flat, including a spare tube. Please carry sufficient water and snacks for the ride.
Mandatory for all riders.
Note: Your RSVP signifies that you agree to the following. Organizers, event hosts and other participants will not be held responsible for any individual at any event. Each rider rides at their own risk and is solely responsible for any damage to their equipment or themselves.
Final Note: RSVP’s cannot include a +1 or Guest. If you choose to bring a friend or family member, they themselves must sign up as a member of NumBumz.
Obey traffic laws and remember you’re a representative of the greater cycling community and should conduct yourself that way on the road. Please represent us well.
Helmets must be worn at all times while riding. This is a requirement and not a request.
All riders must have their rides in good working order and must bring a flat kit & spare tube on all rides. If there is an issue with proper working or lack of equipment you may be asked to sit the ride out. Please ask for help if you are ill equipped prior to the ride. We will try to help!
All riders must be able to change a flat should they have one or have a way to get picked up (AAA, a friend…). There is often but not always someone on the ride who knows how to help you change your tire so plan accordingly.
