Speaker bio: Maarten is CTO at Showpad. He is passionate about technology, and a million other things.
IMEC vzw is a world-leading independent research center in nano-electronics and nanotechnology. Its research focuses on the next generations of chips and systems, energy, electronics for healthcare and life sciences, sustainable wireless communication, imaging and future 3D visualization, and sensor systems for industrial applications. The IMEC campus in Leuven, Belgium includes more than 24000 square meters of office space, laboratories, training facilities, and technical support rooms.
At the heart of the campus are two cleanrooms: There is a 300mm cleanroom that focuses on research on sub-7nm process technology, and a 200mm cleanroom for research, prototyping and low volume manufacturing of sensors, actuators, and so on. A cleanroom is a facility for producing microprocessors and nanotechnology with extremely low levels of particles, dust, or airborne organisms. IMEC is headquartered in Leuven, Belgium, and has offices in Belgium, the Netherlands, Taiwan, USA, China, and Japan.
