Golang Dorset Monthly Meetup
As well as a £25 Amazon voucher from Spectrum IT up for grabs, we have a two great talks lined up this month! Dan R is going to talk us through a recent personal project of his to write an emulator (technically interpreter) for Chip8. If you've ever relived your youth by playing old console games on a modern machine and wondered "how exactly do emulators work" this should give you an insight, as well as an insight as to how CPUs actually follow instructions and use memory, with a generous helping of bit shifting for good measure. Sticking with the bitwise theme, Ben C has some code to show off. Using bitwise operations to improve code efficiency around users access permissions. NEW VENUE! - Barclays Eagle Lab, County Gates, Westbourne, Bournemouth. There will hopefully be parking available, but this is at the discretion of the venue, if not then there is a public car park just around the corner (Milburn Road). There are also great bus links to the venue. Anyone with an interest in Golang and server side tech welcome! SEE YOU THERE!!!
