What we're about

Are you 20 or 30 something years old and maybe new to the Gold Coast? Or simply want to meet more like minded individuals??

Do you get bored easily? Always struggling to find a friend to do the fun stuff with like hiking, checking out bars and restaurants PLUS anything in between?

Do you like going out for coffee, dinners, trying new fitness classes and exploring what's out and about around the coast from bars, cafes to markets?

Personally we know how hard it can be to meet like minded individuals no matter where in the world you go hence the birth of this group. To bring people together and have like minded individuals meet, greet and build friendships over similar interests and hobbies.

We run any event from day trips, hiking and anything else exciting and different in-between. If there are 4 + RSVP's to any event it goes ahead, otherwise is moved to a further date that is more suitable for others to attend.

Doesn't matter if you are single or a couple, everyone is welcome.

To help cover costs on running this group some events are run with a $2 donation collected at the beginning to secure the spot and allow future events to run. Also some activities do cost money but this is sorted out on the day with cash.

Attendance Rule

This is just to remind everyone that its important to let hosts know you can not make an event - especially when there are limited places. If you fail to do this and simply don't turn up then this counts as a No Show. If you do this more than 3 times you will no longer be able to sign up to events. We know that things happen but remember that simply cancelling 30 minutes before also means that your ticket will go to waste and other people who would have come have missed out. Please bear this in mind and where possible let your host know asap.

See you soon!

Day Trip - Strawberry Festival + Riverfire

Needs a location

A$2.00

Weather is getting warmer, it's time to come out of the closet! This day out will feature Strawberry Festival and Riverfire in South Bank.

Details of the places we'll visit are as follow:

1. RedFest Strawberry Festival
https://redfest.com.au/

RedFest Strawberry Festival provides a vibrant mix of music, arts and cultural displays, fresh produce and celebrity chef displays, sideshow alley amusement rides and an abundance of national and international entertainment.

For more than 60 years locals and visitors have gathered together to celebrate the juicy, red, sweet and tasty strawberry. They made jams, wine, scones, salads, smoothies and just about anything else they could think of. They dressed up as strawberries; they held strawberry dances and crowned miss strawberry queens.

2. Riverfire
https://www.brisbanefestival.com.au/whats-on/2022/retirement-trust-riverfire

Mark your diary for the most spectacular night of the year as Riverfire by Australian Retirement Trust heralds the start of Brisbane Festival on Saturday 3 September.

The skies will blast open with excitement and celebration as Foti Fireworks launch their shimmering and electrifying pyrotechnics display from bridges, barges and rooftops across the city.

Our Plan:
We will meet at our carpool place in Nerang for carpool. We'll then drive to Cleveland for the Strawberry Festival. After that, we'll drive to Loganlea train station to park our cars there and take the train to South Bank for Riverfire. Once we're done we'll take the train back to Loganlea to get our cars back and head home.

*Bring Gocard for train hop between Loganlea and South Bank.

Day Trip - Hosanna Farmstay

Needs a location

A$2.00

*Time to meet is 7:45 QLD time (8:45 NSW) in order to join their animal feeding at 9am NSW time. You can welcome to arrive after that and find us in the farm.

Set by a lake, this laid-back farmstay is 12 km from cultural exhibits at the Tweed Regional Museum and 19 km from the Mount Nullum Nature Reserve.

Every morning we feed the animals and you get to be involved! Hold a baby chicken, feed the goats and our rabbit family - and watch the pigs get their breakfast. Animal Feeding time is 9am NSW time.

Hosanna Farmstay Video

A Day Visit pass gives you access to the facilities and free activities happening around Hosanna Farmstay that day. Come and join in feeding the animals, grab a coffee or go for a swim in the dam.

Throughout the day, our animals enjoy their day grazing and snoozing in the paddocks. You can hang out with the rabbits in the Bunny House or the chicks in the Chick House at specific times during the day, or bump into the goats as they free range through the farm. Maybe try and catch a chicken as they run around the playground.

Our swimming dam is the hub of activity around our farmstay. Float around on the inner tubes or grab a kayak to cruise around - there's even a space for younger children to splash around safely.
Kayaks require a gold coin deposit to unlock (just like an ALDI trolley), and PFD (Personal Flotation Devices) are available for loan from Reception.

We've taken old school to a new level with our waterslide! It's an upgrade to the original black plastic slide down the hill that has been hugely popular at our farm for so many years. Head up the hill, jump on the plastic and slide on down - straight into the dam!

*Here's the plan:
-We meet at 7:45am QLD time (8:45NSW) for 8am(9am NSW) entry and animal feeding time
-Bring your picnic food, drinks etc for the day
-Swimwear, towel, sunscreen etc
-The day will be at your leisure, you can visit the farm animals, swim in the dam, play in the creek, waterslide, walking trail etc
*The cost is $7 for day visit. The link to book will be provided 3 days prior in the comment section.
