TYPE: STSP (1st Sunday) | PACE: Conversational | TERRAIN: Mostly sidewalk, some grass/dirt trail, some road | DIFFICULTY: Moderate, due to sloping hills and some steep stretches in first half of walk | DISTANCE: Approx. 3 mi | COST: Free

From the newly updated Norman D Park, we will follow the extended Tucker Gulch trail under Hwy 93, visit the historic Brickyard House, and wander along the classic Hogback Ridge in North Golden. We will traverse time, from a multi-use trail completed in 2015 to a a Foursquare Romanesque brick house built in the early 1900's to a geologic structure (the Dakota hogback) created millions of years ago ...

We'll begin near the parking lot by making introductions and starting the walk NO LATER than 5 after the hour. The walk will take about an hour.

We do take the weather into account on this walk, as it is exposed. Check back in. Please be sure to RSVP so we can notify you in the event the trip is cancelled unexpectedly. Thank you! Feel free to contact walking trip host (Rhiannon at 720.261.3868) if you have questions!

First Timers/Waiver: If this is your first time walking with this trip leader or if you have not completed a Welcome Waiver this year, please arrive 5-10 minutes early to connect, learn more about the walk, and complete a waiver. You can also fill out the online waiver here. (http://walk2connect.com/welcomewaiver/)

Parking: There will be limited parking in the parking lot, with ample parking in the neighborhood closeby. Please arrive early enough to park your vehicle and meet in the park promptly..

Dog Friendly! We will be doing a loop back to our starting location. Please consider whether your dog can handle 3 miles when walking in this season and insure that your dog is calm, well behaved and MUST stay leashed. Please be sure to bring baggies.

Restrooms: There will be a portapotty at our starting point.

Weather considerations: Please come prepared for our seasonal, changeable weather. Consider bringing water, light snacks, and weather-protective gear and/or layers.

Golden Walks are intended to be very informal and to give us all unique opportunities to connect with one another, ourselves and our surroundings.

Let's walk!
