What we're about
Golf for One means golf for you.
We are a co-ed group of very active golfers.
Our goal is pretty simple: play a lot of golf and have fun in the process.
Our outings are low-key get-togethers for small groups of 8 - 28 who have no other outlets for golf. We hope to attract women and men (including couples) who have experience and are avid golfers. We play throughout the year.
Our only membership requirement: please play with us every 4 - 5 weeks to stay on our roster. If you are an occasional golfer we may not be the right fit for you.
Right now, we do have a waiting list.
We practice 'ready golf' - our goal is a 4.5 hour round (or quicker). Not fast golf but a steady pace of play. We do play by USGA rules for the most part. Two tee balls on the first hole is common unless a tournament round. We do play at courses that do not allow jeans so please dress appropriately. A few courses may allow, but you do not want the hassle of being denied play! We respect the game of golf and hope you will as well. If you get into trouble on a hole, please pick up as you approach 'double par'. Annual dues are $5 (use the 'Chip in' button in the left hand column or pay at your first event, all of which goes to pay the Meetup fees). It's a pretty good deal.
We have no organizational meetings beyond post-round libations or meals. Friendly games between members are encouraged but not mandatory.
Note: We are not a dating group and strive to keep things steered toward golf.
Once you start playing with us, keep track of your rounds at fairwayfiles.com, clickitgolf.com, thegrint.com or any other online handicap site. This will help you build a handicap to play in our club championship and other events.
Again, we are looking for regulars to play with. If you join but do not play, we reserve the right to remove you from our active list.
