June Cloud meetup - Stream Processing & Tensorflow

Details

GDG Cloud Copenhagen summer meetup
Summer is here! How about spending it inside with like-minded people, learning about Google Cloud?

A few years ago, moving data between applications and datastores included expensive monolithic stacks from large software vendors with little flexibility. Now with frameworks such as Apache Beam and Apache Airflow, we can schedule and run data processing jobs for both streaming and batch with the same underlying code. The first presentation demonstrates how to setup a multi-step transformation pipeline with Apache Beam in Dataflow that saves the results to BigQuery.

Computas provides beer, drinks, snacks and a bit to eat.

Agenda
17:00-17:50 Doors open
17:50:18:00 Welcome
18:00-18:40 Data ingestion with Apache Beam on Google Cloud w/Rustam Mehmandarov – Java Champion, Leader of JavaZone and Chief Engineer at Computas
19:00-19:30 Snack and drinks
19:30-20:10 Writing custom TensorFlow operations on Google Cloud? - Kasper Marstal
20:00-20:30 Socializing and thanks for this time!

Kasper Marstal will be speaking about:
Writing custom TensorFlow operations on Google Cloud?
TensorFlow is one of the most popular frameworks for machine learning, but what if your data cannot be directly represented by a TensorFlow tensor? The second talk will take a deep dive into the internals of TensorFlow and show you how to implement a custom C++ operation for medical image processing and deploy it on Google Cloud. This approach allows you to write concise code in Python and performance critical code in C++ whilst taking advantage of Google's compute infrastructure.

What is GDG Cloud Copenhagen?
It is a meetup group that is organized by the community and supported by Google sometimes with resources. We are a group that is like to use Google Cloud platform and meet like-minded and talk about how we can do things smarter.

Can I present something at the meetup?
Yes, you are very welcome to come and present your ideas/solutions. We really appreciate and actively promote talks that help the community to get a new look at something or see how something is used in other companies! Reach out here on meetup or on email!

Looking forward to see you,
Kevin, Mads, Michael
