What we're about

We are a group of developers learning, sharing and discovering more about innovative technologies developed by Google as well as things adjacent or complementary. We cover topics such as Android, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Firebase, Material Design, Internet of Things (IoT) and everything in between. We meet once a month, focus on technical content, have expert speakers, and the group's activities are generally free and all are welcome. From time to time we offer codelabs & workshops.

Interested in giving a talk or sponsoring an event? Feel free to get hold of us on Meetup or Twitter, or email us at gdgcapetown@gmail.com . We would love to hear from you!

Note: this is a shared event between GDG Cape Town and GDG Johannesburg. It is listed on both Meetup groups to promote it our combined communities. However, please be aware that the event is only being held once in Cape Town. GDG DevFest 2019 season is here! This is a series of community-led events, where you can learn the essentials and best practices of various Google technologies and products: Android, Web, Google Cloud Platform and more. This is the second edition of our successful 2018 conference, previously held in Johannesburg. This year we are aiming to replicate its success in the beautiful city of Cape Town. The event is a bit different from other conferences. We want to make it accessible so we aren't charging a fee to attend. There are only 200 spots so you need to really give some good motivation as to why you want to be there. APPLY TO ATTEND HERE: https://bit.ly/devfest-south-africa-2019-attend NOTE: RSVPing ON MEETUP DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE A TICKET TO ATTEND. Keen to speak?
