What we’re about

GOTHAM ROCK CHOIR (GRC) is NYC's first and largest community choir devoted to Rock, Pop & Motown, as well as related genres such as Musical Theatre.

Every Tuesday night from 7-9 PM, members of GRC gather to rehearse classic and contemporary tunes by artists such as Queen, Bon Jovi, Jackie Wilson, The Beatles and many more--all in four-part harmony! Remember "Glee?" It's like that, but for adults!

Founded in 2009 to provide an alternative to traditional choirs and to give choral singing a much-needed sense of "cool," GRC provides a safe and supportive environment for singers of all experience levels, from professional performers to karaoke fans to avid shower singers.

Gotham Rock Choir is frequently invited to perform some exciting outside gigs. We sang backup for the National Tour of Broadway’s “Rocktopia” with Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and Constantine Maroulis (“American Idol”), performed with Universal platinum recording artists The Tenors, both on national television (NBC’s “Today”) and at Town Hall, sang the National Anthem at both Madison Square Garden and the Barclay Center, shot a commercial for Budweiser, sang at the opening ceremony of the New York City Veteran’s Day Parade, serenaded runners in the New York City Marathon and performed at The Knitting Factory.

We're currently looking for more singers to join the choir! Music-reading ability or previous choral experience not required. All you need to have is a good ear for music and a passion for singing. We have a special need at the moment for Tenors and Basses, but all are encouraged. Adults only, please.
