Saturday Pickup Soccer - Alcott School Turf - Lincoln Park - 1:00 PM
Join us for the best pickup soccer in the heart of Lincoln Park. This well-organized event will rotate teams through a 2-hour mini-tournament. Sign up by yourself or with friends. You'll get a ton of playing time in a competitive, yet fun, afternoon of soccer. Our host will check players in, divide players into teams, and make sure that everything runs smoothly. All you have to do is show up ready to play! Format: Depending on the turnout, the host will determine if we play a 2-team game or break into 3 or more teams for a tournament. We are equipped to set up multiple fields on site, and our goal is to maximize playing time for everyone. Teams will have no more than 1 sub for the tournament format. Everyone is guaranteed a minimum of an hour of actual playing time - but usually gets more (up to the full 2 hours). Pinnies will be provided to differentiate the teams. Champions will have their picture taken and added to our photo gallery of tournament winners! Pricing You will be able to pre-pay for this event once we have enough people confirmed for a game and when we feel confident the weather will allow us to play. The host will post a comment with instructions how to pre-pay when the option is available. $15 - RSVP online and pay in advance $15 - RSVP online and pay cash at the event As of March 2018, each Grab A Game Participant must fill out our online waiver. It only needs to be completed once for all Grab A Game groups and games. If you have not yet filled out this waiver, please complete it before attending this event: https://waiver.fr/p-sht8E What to Wear/Bring We are playing outdoors on a synthetic turf field. You may wear cleats, turf shoes, or gym shoes. Shin guards are highly recommended but not required. Bring a white shirt and a black shirt in case pinnies are not available. Bring a water bottle. What to Expect Show up early! The games will begin at the time posted for this event. Players may start checking in with the event host as early as 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. If the field is available, you may begin warming up before the event begins. We will provide a game ball. Level of Play This event is open to all levels of play. We do our best to create even teams so that games are well-matched. There are no referees, so players need to play with sportsmanship and call their own fouls. Please comply with any requests or instruction made by the host to ensure a quality and enjoyable event for everyone. Fighting or abusive language will result in removal from the game without refund. Facility Information The Alcott School Turf is tucked into the Lincoln Park neighborhood and offers close parking and a fenced-in area for play on artificial turf. Goals are provided. The host will set up cones to mark the perimeter of the field. Parking Free street parking available in the neighborhood around the school. Be sure to check posted parking signs. Minimum number of players This event needs a minimum of 12 people (not including the host) signed up 2 hours before the start of the event in order to run. An email notification will be sent if we cancel and this event will show up as canceled on our meetup. Sign up early to encourage more people to sign up! Do Your Part! Help us keep an accurate guest count! If you RSVP, we are counting on you to be there and we will plan accordingly. If you change your mind about playing or your guest count changes, please update your RSVP. No-Shows will be marked on your account. Repeat offenders may be dismissed from the group. Cancellations and Refunds/Credits We understand things happen, so if you cancel your paid RSVP you are eligible for a refund or credit under these circumstances: 1. You canceled 48 hours or more in advance of the event. 2. If the event sells out and your spot is filled by another paying player, you may request a credit or refund. If the event is not sold out, you will not receive a refund or a credit. This policy is in place to prevent same-day cancellations.
