What we're about

Grace North Church is a progressive Christian community that welcomes anyone, regardless of who you are, what you've done, who you love, and what you believe or don't believe. Come join us for a worship celebration that is formal and friendly at the same time, both heartfelt and intellectually satisfying, and meet folks who are diverse and caring. Our music is folky and original, and we are GLBT friendly—and dog-friendly, too! (Yes, you can bring your dog. Really.)

Grace North Church is located at 2138 Cedar Street, Berkeley, CA 94709 (Enter at Cedar Street between Walnut St and Oxford St located at Christ Church). The Labyrinth Hall is located in the building behind the sanctuary, upstairs. Handicapped access available.

Interfaith labyrinth Service

Grace North Church

Please join us this Friday night at 6pm for an Interfaith labyrinth service!

We light 97 candles around the rim of the labyrinth, dim the lights, and a small band (cello, violin, piano, guitar, and ukulele) leads people in singing quiet, reflective chants from all the world's religions. During that time, people are free to meditate, pray, sing, read, walk or dance the labyrinth, however the Spirit moves them. Come be held in song, while you walk the labyrinth!

6pm-7pm at Grace North Church, 2138 Cedar St., Berkeley, CA 94709 in the Labyrinth Hall, last Friday night of every month. Co-sponsored by Grace North Church (www.gracenorthchurch.org (http://www.gracenorthchurch.org/)) and the Chaplaincy Institute for Arts and Interfaith Ministry (www.chaplaincyinstitute.org (http://www.chaplaincyinstitute.org/)).

Peace.

Progressive, healing Christian worship...

Grace North Church

Have you been wounded by religion in the past? A lot of us know what that’s like. We’re a dogma-free zone, committed to loving each other without insisting that anyone believe the same or think the same or act the same. We support people being exactly who they are—exactly who God made us to be. Oh, and we bring our dogs to church. Grace North Church is a community where healing happens, people learn to love, and animals are welcome. We love and celebrate our Christian tradition, but we also honor the wisdom and devotion of people of many religions, and see them as sisters and brothers in faith. We strive for a width of belief and welcome and a depth of tradition and practice. That means that no matter who you are, no matter where you come from, no matter what you’ve done, no matter who you love, no matter what you believe or don’t believe, you are welcome here. Our worship is grounded in the Christian tradition, celebrated with joy and radical openness.

Prayer & Support Group

Grace North Church

1st Wednesdays at 7pm, we'll end around 8:30.

This group will provide us an opportunity to pray for and support one another in an informal, conversational setting. Each person who chooses to do so will have an opportunity to share their concerns and prayer requests and will be offered support and prayed for individually.

You are also welcome to attend and just observe if you do not want to pray or share. You may also pray silently if you prefer.

Each meeting will also include an opening and closing song along with a brief presentation and discussion of a biblical passage about prayer.

The group will be conducted from a Christian perspective but is open to anyone of any (or no) religion. Please join us, and invite your friends and family to come along!

Meet us in the church office down the steps behind the sanctuary.
