Saturday Board Gaming @ Columbia Mall

Grand Forks

With vaccinations making their rounds and the world returning to some semblance of normal, we've decided to return to in-person game meetups! Our first official in-person board game meetup will be on Saturday June 12th, at 1pm, in the food court area of the Columbia Mall.

Before the pandemic, we were meeting every other Saturday at The Ember, which was closing before the pandemic closures happened. We were planning to transition to using the food court area in Columbia Mall after getting the ok from mall management.

A typical meetup usually goes from 1pm-5pm. A few of us usually bring a handful a games, so don't worry if you don't have have any games to bring. On average we used to get at least 2 games going at a time, but busier meetups we would have 5 or more games going on simultaneously. Feel free to post here or the Facebook group if there is a certain game you want to play. This is great to do when it comes to heavier, longer games that are harder to get a pick up game going.

Currently there is only El Gordito operating at the food court, or the Preztelmaker in the middle of the mall, if you are looking for food and/or drink while playing games. Broken Sentry Games, one of the two local board game stores, is also located in the mall. They offer board game rentals if there is a certain game you really want to try that no one owns but you are not ready to buy it until you try it.

**IMPORTANT**
Masks will be REQUIRED for all attendees. If you would prefer not to wear a mask during the meetup, you can opt-out by showing one of the event hosts proof of covid-19 vaccination. This might mean showing us your vaccine card or even just a selfie with your vaccine sticker. If you cannot show proof of vaccination and are unwilling to wear a mask, you will be unable to attend our meetups at this time. This rule will remain in effect until the event organizers have deemed it is safe to relax these precautions following CDC guidelines.
We are so excited to play some games again! We hope to see many of you on June 12th (and/or later meetups)!
