The Legal Issues (on,around,with,in and above) Blockchain Technology

The blockchain is a highly valuable, innovative technology that continues to infiltrate a variety of aspects of everyday life. Interestingly, blockchain technology invokes complicated legal issues. Cooley Law School’s Federalist Society, Grand Rapids Chapter, will be hosting the Grand Rapids Blockchain meetup to discuss both technical and legal aspects of blockchain. To begin the discussion, Professor of Electrical Engineering Mark Michmerhuizen from Calvin College will be discussing some technical aspects of blockchain technology. Second, two entrepreneurs will discuss a variety of applications of blockchain technology in everyday life. Lastly, Grand Rapids attorney Ian Northon will touch on several legal implications that blockchain technology invokes.
