El Granjero Mexican Grill

Hi all!

I'm afraid that I might have left the impression that El Granjero has asked us to change our start time. While we have often challenged the kitchen and servers by the size of our group (and some of our bad grammar) they have never failed to cheerfully accommodate our needs. I'd like to clarify that this decision was entirely ours - the organizers.

A little history might help explain how we arrived at it. We left Mezze (next to San Chez) because of seating and parking issues on days the Arena had early events. We started at El Granjero with groups of 8-12 people that usually left by noon, while the lunch crowd was arriving. Over time we not only grew but started to hang around longer - but normally still not interfering with the next seating. The staff at El Granjero was gracious in working with us to ensure that everyone was comfortable.

We had a very exciting week in early December with 35 members in attendance. At noon, when the lunch crowd started to arrive there were only 2 tables for a total of 4 people available.

Most restaurants need to maximize their business at each seating to survive and we did not want to interfere with El Granjero's lunch business. We asked them if we could start at 10:00, as opposed to trying to break the group up early, and they agreed that it would be helpful.

As an alternative to the 10:00 am start, we have had suggestions to consider commencing at 1:30. While we hesitate to vary from our morning routine we would like to know if there is sufficient interest in an afternoon alternative. Please let us know.

Thank you, all, for your continued support and we hope to see you at breakfast tomorrow. At 10:00 ;-)
