Based on the popular concept of an Un-Conference, we will have lightning talks based on who is doing interesting Graph things and who shows up. Additionally, we will do hands-on mentored 'up and graphing' labs for those aspiring graphistas and pair-graphing for those who want to explore a GraphDB idea.

Come prepared to tell the crowd something interesting about your graph DB goodness!

I've suggested another meetup. I need two more RSVPs for my suggestion to be scheduled. Help.

Yes, indeed. Give a talk at TriHUG or integrate into their agenda. Entirely reasonable. Perhaps a subgroup will (d)evolve from that. ~{;~)

Hi All, You may want to attend Tri-Hug on Tues, Aug 20. The topic is graph databases. Evening meeting at Bronto SW, which is a great venue for meetings.

This is one meeting I did not want to miss, but I am out of the country and will not be able to attend. Can someone to a huge favor and see if they can skype/gtalk in with me during the presentation so that I can listen in. Another option is to record the audio on their mobile device. I can try and get the permission from the speakers. Thanks!

A discussion of Graph visualization and analytics at scale? I was on a teleconference last week for a group working on standards for exchange of financial data to support regulatory insight into systemic risk. There was a demo of gruff, but it was only being applied to visualization of some parts of the EDM/OMG FIBO ontology, which is a work in progress, and only small sets of instance data were shown.
Some comments were made about the how the biggest role of semantic technology in this kind of application might be in the meaningful aggregation of data prior to the running of graph analytics (e.g. filtering nodes by type, including all subtypes; aggregating edges only in consistent ways)- x apples + y oranges = x + y fruit. Unless the metric of interest is risk-weighted fruit.

The subject of graph visualizations to quickly become a big black blob, and the difficulties of making the interfaces usable by analysts, and the output useful for decision makers was touched upon.

    * Using Neo4j in an application, preferably a .Net application
    * Various frameworks and interfaces from application development languages to Neo4j
    * Intro to graph databases other than Neo4j
    * Incorporating Neo4j into an existing RDB production environment -- coexistence.

The TriNUG Data SIG did a Neo4j presentation last night. I told them about this meetup group. Maybe one of the group members will be able to give a higher level presentation and demo at a later SIG. Also, I let them know about this meetup.
