This session will give everyone new to graph databases and Neo4j a gentle introduction.

We will talk about graphs in the real world, how graph databases relate to relational databases, how they fit into the NoSQL space.

We will show you how easy it is to model for a domain just using a whiteboard and using the basic building blocks of the property-graph model.

With a hands-on example we explore creating some data and querying it with the intuitive graph query language - Cypher.

In the second part we give a short overview on how we've used Neo4j at Vinelab and how we benefited from a graph database. In a later meetup we will dive into that in more detail.
