Hi there! 😃

Yay! It's been a long time but we are back with another super-cool GraphQL meetup. We are very proud, Twitter will be hosting with their largest room so we can make a lot of GraphQL noise together! Awesome! ✨🦄

Talks and Speakers

• GraphQL Data Mushups (by Marion Schleifer)

Marion is a Developer Experience Engineer at Hasura. She also runs Women Techmakers Switzerland and the GraphQL meetup in Zurich. She loves bringing people together to talk about technology and to learn new things.

In this talk, we will focus on creating Data Mushups. This is integrating two or more data sources using GraphQL. As Applications grow their data requirements and "source of truth" is likely to get spread across multiple data-sources and 3rd party APIs. Teams have a hard time getting access to slices of data and bring it all together in a secure and reliable way. I will introduce how we solve this problem using Hasura Remote Joins. These extend the concept of joining data across tables to remote data sources.

• Advanced Schema Design - Who owns what (by Uri Goldshtein)

Uri Goldshtein is the founder of The Guild, a group of open source developers working around the world to help create important open source libraries, mostly around GraphQL and to support large companies go through successful technological transformations.

When you go over the hype, got yourself a nice working GraphQL API and as it starts growing, many questions pop up around managing and splitting your GraphQL server. In this talk, we will go through different practices and tools, some from the ecosystem and others that we had to create by ourselves at The Guild, like Modules, Stitching and Federation; and what worked for us when working with large and small companies.
