What we're about

GraphQL is a data query language and specification developed internally by Facebook in 2012 before being publicly open sourced in 2015. It provides an alternative to REST-based architectures with the purpose of increasing developer productivity and minimizing amounts of data transferred.

Shopify (https://help.shopify.com/en/api/getting-started/shopify-and-graphql/graphql-benefits), GitHub (https://developer.github.com/v4/), Facebook, Twitter, PayPal, Intuit, and thousands of other large and small companies use it to power their APIs.

There are server and client tools in many languages and integration with many frameworks (not just React!).

Talks are welcome from everyone, and we especially encourage folks who identify with a group that's typically under-represented in tech. We can help you with any aspect of the talk, from the idea to feedback about the talk itself.
