What we're about

The Great Lakes Shamanic Community (GLSC) is a Spiritual Community of Families living in Michigan and Illinios; A vibrant community of seekers committed to the human quest for growth, excellence, maturity and integrity, in the tradition of the Sweet Medicine Sundance teachings. We hold an open door for the curious who strive to deepen their connection to the Natural worlds of Grandmother Earth.

We are a community that fosters the flourishing of Beauty, Power, Knowledge, and Freedom, in the tradition of the Deer Tribe Metis Medicine Society Our mission is to fight against ignorance, slavery, bigotry, racism, war, dogma and superstition, using the teachings of the Sweet Medicine Sundance Path.

We gather every second Friday of the month, from 7 to 10pm. These gatherings will have different themes around the Sweet Medicine traditions and teachings that will be open to both children and adults. Each evening will include teachings such as the medicine of the animal, plant and mineral worlds, learning how to create and use Medicine tools, drumming and singing, and how we can live in balance and harmony with ourselves, our families, our communities, and Grandmother Earth.

We offer programs through a variety of lodges, study groups and affiliated teachers located throughout the Great Lakes areas of Michigan and Illinois. This includes over a dozen locations from Detroit to Chicago.

With us you can engage in:

• Shamanic teachings

• Ceremony (including Purification Lodges)

• Warrior Training

• Rites of Passage

• Vision Quests

• Drum Circles

• Brotherhood & Sisterhood Circles

• Outdoor Survival Skills

Join us this year to deepen your connection to the Natural and Spirit Worlds of Grandmother Earth. Through this connection, we gain balance in living and growing.

Please RSVP for each event.
