It's that time of year and summer will be over and time to get back to our Routine.

For our August meeting we will review 3 topics related to IOT and getting back to school.

6:00 Doors Open and Networking

6:20 Introduction and Announcements

6:30 IOT and the Research Community

Bill Eason from Georgia Tech CDAIT https://cdait.gatech.edu/ will introduce us to local Groups that are involved in IOT Research. He will also discuss some of his IOT projects and activities with Students and how you can follow or contribute to the program.

7:00 IOT and the Makers Community

Atlanta has a great Makers Community that provides both learning and coaching for those developing skills for makers of all kinds. Increasingly Makerspaces are a great place to learn prototyping skills with sensors, with Arduino, and Raspberry PI.

Milton Walker from the Southeast Makers Alliance will introduce us to the area Makerspaces as well as highlight their signature event MakerFaire 2017 which is coming in October 2017 and how you can get involved in the program.

7:30 IOT and the Hackathon Community

Atlanta has had quite a few hackathons in the last year. We will have a panel discussion about what its like to participate in a hackathon and what you can learn at one. Panel will be moderated by Caroline Dunn, past winner of Mobility Live Hackathon among others.
