Redis Workshop

An intro, and hands on workshop for using the Redis Key/Value store with Java.

Important! If you plan to attend, follow the instructions here (https://github.com/GreaterMKEMeetup/redis-workshop) before you come!

We'll go over:

• Redis Intro - What is Redis, what can it do?

• Setting up a FREE redis-cloud (https://redislabs.com/redis-cloud) instance.

• Connecting to your instance via the Redis CLI.

• Basic Redis data structures.

• Create a FREE Java app, running on Pivotal Web Services, that connects to your redis-cloud instance.

• Using Java Redis Clients such as Jedis (https://github.com/xetorthio/jedis), Reddison (https://github.com/redisson/redisson), and lettuce (https://github.com/mp911de/lettuce).

By the end of the meetup, you should have a fully working Java/Redis playground!

I'll send out an email at least a week before the meetup detailing any new accounts, or required programs you should have installed on your laptop.
