What we're about

Welcome to the DBSA, "DEPRESSION BIPOLAR SUPPORT ALLIANCE" serving the Greater New Haven and Fairfield Counties. Share in discussions and experience support in a safe and nonjudgmental setting with others who are dealing as well as coping with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. There is much evidence that support groups can be beneficial and therapeutic for those of us with these illnesses. A support group atmosphere can empower us through sharing, listening, and learning about personal experiences and how each one of us strives to manage our illness.

I have been facilitating DBSA Support groups for 10 years. I am certified by DBSA as an advanced facilitator and Peer Specialist. All facilitators of these groups are Peers who have a diagnosis of Bipolar, Depression, Anxiety etc. For more information regarding DBSA Support groups and the DBSA organization, check out :

• The Greater New Haven and Shoreline groups meet at BHcare Branford every Monday 6-8 PM at 14 Sycamore way, Branford.

• The Old Saybrook meeting is every Wednesday, 6-8 PM at the Acton Library, 60 Old Boston Post Rd

The Waterford meeting meets every Saturday AM, 9-11 AM Waterford Baptist Church,111 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford, CT 06385

The Westport meeting is every Thursday, 6-8 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Behavioral Health Service, Westport Campus,( formerly Hall-Brooke) 47 Long Lots Rd,

• THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE COMING IS NOT REFLECTED ON THE INDIVIDUAL GROUP LISTINGS. CHECK WITH THE GROUP LEADERS AS TO HOW MANY USUALLY SHOW.

There is no charge though because of the costs of running the Branford and Westport groups there is a request for a donation of $ 2-5 or if so inclined more. I understand that even a small donation can be a strain so do not worry if you are unable to make a donation as all are welcome. You do not have to join Meetup to attend a meeting. No need to RSVP. If you have concerns regarding your connection with this group ( stigma, work, family ), best not to use your full name as you might wind up on a google search. call or write @
