Monday Night Sailing and Meetup at a local Pub.

Details
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! An RSVP does NOT guarantee that you will sail. Members that RSVP "yes" that do not cancel their RSVP, and do not show up, will be listed as "no shows" and removed from future sailings. If the maximum is reached, the others will be on a waitlist. Preference will be given to those that have made connections with skippers through weekly socializing. This week we will be meeting at a local pub. It is expected that you join us after the sail. Meetup members get the opportunity to sail on a variety of boats with experienced skippers and socialize afterwards. No experience is necessary. The number of spots depends on the number of skippers participating. Participating boats are primarily private vessels with three CIYC Club Boats, and the Skippers are looking forward to meeting new people and finding new crew to sail with.
Weather conditions will be assessed at noon, 3 pm, and on the dock at 6 pm. We reserve the right to cancel sailing if it is deemed to be unsafe. Skippers have the final say for their craft. You must be on the dock at 6 PM SHARP!
There will be no food service at the Club going forward. We will be back at the Club by 8:30 and meet at a local pub. The social aspect is an integral part of this program.
This is NOT for people looking for a free harbor cruise. Skippers are looking for new friends, cruising and racing crew, and to introduce new people to the sport. The Club is looking for those interested in ASA instruction, Club membership, and the Club Boat Timeshare program.
This will be an interactive sail so you will be required to assist in sailing the vessel. All will be required to wear a Personal Floatation Device /lifejacket provided by the Skipper. Skippers will review safety procedures at the mooring. All sailors must sign a waiver and be able to zip up a life jacket. No alcohol is allowed on the boats and we ask that you do not drink beforehand.
Just to be clear, we do not want to exclude anyone from the sport of sailing, but I must remind all it is a sport! One which requires a high level of physical fitness to be part of a crew hoisting and dousing sails, trimming a main, trimming a headsail and helming. Crew must be able to cross the cabin top under the boom during tacks and gybes, sit on the rail and be able to move around a boat nimbly in breeze and choppy seas. Skippers participating in Monday night sailing are offering their vessels for training crew and cannot take on the liability of anyone who is not 100% physically fit and cannot move nimbly around a boat. So we do ask that those who are not 100% physically fit please do not participate in this event. Skippers and the Meetup organizers reserve the right to deny boarding to anyone they feel is not capable of the requirements for a safe sail.
In case of cancellation due to weather, we will have ASA instructors, movies, and other activities going on at the Club.
People can post on Meetup to ride share to and from the Club.
Boat shoes/sneakers with non-marking soles are a must. No sandals or flip flops.
Please bring a bottle of water, no glass, sunglasses, windbreaker, dressing in layers, and rain gear is recommended.
