GreeceJS #16

Details

Ho ho ho,

Christmas season at GreeceJS goes "halara". We have invited two special guests from Thessaloniki: Thanasis Polychronakis, the notorious organizer of the DevIt conference (http://devitconf.org/), and Kostas Bariotis, creator of the popular Devastation podcast (http://devastation.tv/). They are both senior software engineers with much to say, but more importantly through their actions they've advanced the developer community in Thessaloniki and Greece.

Remote working can be both fun and rewarding, however there is no clear way towards that goal. Especially for Senior developers, the play-field is entirely different than that of a junior or intermediate developer. In this presentation we will go through all the various forms of remote working, we’ll examine their pros and cons and go through a pathway to master remote working as a Senior.

At the basis of system testing you will find unit tests, the tests that are the closest to developers. But only a few follow best practices to ensure that they are taking full advantage of them. F.I.R.S.T. is a set of language agnostic principles on writing unit tests the right way.
