Sharing Electric Power in Time of Need and Annual Meeting

Details
Come join Solar Oregon for their annual meeting, 5 x mixer and presentation. The mixer will be a slideshow from several related non-profit and community efforts around the topics of sustainability, energy independence, nature, environment, social justice, clean energy future, and more!
Presentation: The magnitude 9.0 earthquake, ensuing tsunami, and nuclear meltdowns of 2011 showed Japan the importance of sharing limited electric power during the disaster and the year-long recovery. Japan learned sharing wasn’t easy using their existing grid and they have set out to change this. Delightfully, the investments needed to improve sharing not only increase the grid’s resilience, but help the grid accommodate increasing amounts of wind and solar energy, and it pays for itself.
